What Schools Say
Here is what Perth schools, early learning centres and daycares say about Koora Middi.
"Thank you again for yesterday's brilliant incursion with our Year 1s — they are still talking about your visit today, they loved it! The information you shared connected beautifully with their current learning in class — we are so grateful."
"Today Greg Nannup shared his great knowledge with us. He discussed bush tucker, bush medicine, making fires and where to locate water. Most important — anything RED is dangerous!"
"We had a fabulous Koora-Middi Incursion today. We learnt so much about the artifacts he brought with him and how they are used in Aboriginal culture for survival and to ensure sustainability. He taught us the links between Dreamtime and Creation Stories and Aboriginal culture and customs around our region."
"The experience introduced children to the rich culture, history and traditions of the Nyoongar people, with a focus on the Wadjuk tribe, the traditional custodians of the land on which we live, and the Swan River as an important dreaming trail."
"Greg was absolutely wonderful with our Kindy children. He was patient, engaging and clearly passionate about sharing his culture. The kids were completely captivated by the artefacts and the Dreamtime stories. We will absolutely be booking again next year."
"Our Year 4 and 5 students were absolutely engaged from start to finish. Greg's knowledge is encyclopaedic and his ability to connect with children is remarkable. The excursion to Point Walter was a highlight of our whole school calendar this year."
"What a special experience for our little ones. Greg arrived with a possum skin cloak, kangaroo skins and traditional tools — the children were mesmerised. The staff learnt just as much as the kids. We can't recommend Koora Middi highly enough."
"Greg's incursion was hands-down one of the best we have ever hosted at our school. The way he weaves storytelling, language and artefacts together creates something genuinely memorable. Our students left with a deep respect for Nyoongar culture."
"We booked Koora Middi for NAIDOC Week and it was the perfect way to celebrate. Greg connected our whole school community to Country in a way that was authentic, joyful and educational. Parents commented on how much their children talked about it at home all week."
